PRODUCTION DESIGNER
ABOUT
I am a designer who thrives in active collaborations that demand problem solving, ingenuity, versatility and putting the story first. My work excels when form follows function to create an environment that truly serves the needs of the script, game or event and the client. The first step is a thorough and lively conversation, creating a dialogue that continues throughout the process so that the visuals can respond to the project as it develops.

I was born and raised in Texas where I discovered a love for theater, art and writing at a young age. In my college drama department I discovered “set design,” a miraculous combination of all the things I loved to do most. After earning an MFA in Set Design at University of California, San Diego in 2001, I drove across the country with my dog Matilda to join the ranks of theater artists trying to “make it” in New York City. I soon met and began working for legendary theater and film designer Tony Walton, who opened his studio and family to me and became a beloved mentor as I assisted him for four years on his design, directing and bookmaking projects. I also began designing sets and costumes for modern dance choreographer Monica Bill Barnes, leading to a friendship and collaboration that has spanned two decades.

In 2006 I transitioned into television work, and in 2008 I was offered the position of Art Director on the launch of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The rewarding challenges of this daily variety show united my love for the theatrical with active, fast-paced collaborations and the need for constant problem solving. My 13 years working in Late Night have culminated in my current position as Production Designer on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, where I have learned to work fast, turn on a dime, and value the contribution and potential of every team member as we make production miracles happen every day. My most recent design project was the studio set for NBC’s new primetime version of the gameshow Password, airing in August of 2022.

I live in Montclair, NJ where I am a mom to two amazing and hilarious kids and three crazy furry mutts who all teach me something new every day.
